into their maturity.
Few if any create a trail blazing historical precedent right
from the beginning.
According
to the book "Diamonds from India", the earliest organized
attempt at diamond processing in the country began in
1949, when our founder, HB Shah and his associates set
up India's first modern diamond processing factory. With
a foresight that speaks of his vision, he brought across
a Belgian Master cutter as a technical adviser to teach
the trade to the Indian workers!
Today, that humble beginning has resulted in a burgeoning
Indian dominance in the Diamond Trade. Diamond exports
from India now amounts to more than US$ 8 Billion annually!
At HB Shah Pvt. Ltd, we have
continually built up on this heritage.
In 1987, the Govt. of India under the aegis of the Gem
& Jewelry Export Promotion Council awarded Shri. P.B
Shah, (Click
here) for his pioneering efforts to promote the Diamond
trade in India.
Our present Chairman Shri Shrish P. Shah has been in the
diamond business since 1960 and has served the industry
by his active participation in various trade bodies and
philanthropic activities.
Today under the management of Shri. Asim S. Shah the company
is actively involved in Loose Diamonds, Customized Jewellery,
Industrial Diamonds and Software Development
